Gdańsk Jewellery Week: Two Events, One Goal

The spring Amberif Spring develops the jewelry and amber industry. The autumn Gdańsk Jewellery Week opens the world of amber to residents and tourists. Together they form two pillars of promoting Gdańsk as the World Capital of Amber.

Meetings Instead of Contracts

At Gdańsk Jewellery Week it was easy to meet people who were seeing art jewelry for the first time in their lives. They did not come here for business meetings. They came out of curiosity, to meet the makers and to see the world of contemporary design, not only with Baltic amber. This was especially visible during “Targi Rzeczy Wyjątkowych” (Unique Things Fair). Jewelry designers, ceramicists, glass artists and craftspeople met in one space.

Each Event Has Its Own Task

This is where the difference between Gdańsk Jewellery Week and Amberif Spring was most visible. Amberif Spring remains the most important trade event of the jewelry and amber sector. Gdańsk Jewellery Week shows this world to residents and tourists. One event develops the industry. The other builds its future audience. Together they tell a coherent story about amber and contemporary design.
