Visitors looking at jewelry in exhibition display cases during Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026

Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026: From Magia Materii to Cisza and Spoiler Alert!

The exhibitions presented during Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026 showed that contemporary jewelry can be art, an experiment or a story about the world.

Some stopped at the exhibition Daria w krainie bursztynu (Daria in Amberland). Others returned to the Amberif Design Award exhibition. Still others spent a long time discussing the objects shown at the “Prezentacje Cisza” (Presentations: Silence) exhibition. One thing was certain: the exhibitions were among the festival's strongest points.

A Strong Point

The Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026 program included the post-competition Amberif Design Award exhibition “Magia Materii” (Magic of Matter), the exhibition “Prezentacje Cisza” prepared by the Association of Goldsmithing Form Makers, and Daria w krainie bursztynu by Daria Dorbur Burkowska.

In addition, the International Amber Association showed the exhibition “Unnecessary Jewellery” at its headquarters, and the cities of Gdańsk and Gdynia invited visitors to the exhibition Gdyński Szlif Gdańska kolekcja ze zbiorów Muzeum Bursztynu Oddział Muzeum Gdańska (Gdynia Cut, Gdańsk collection from the holdings of the Amber Museum, a branch of the Museum of Gdańsk) at the Gdynia Infobox.

Different Stories About Baltic Amber and Jewelry

Each exhibition told its story of Baltic amber and jewelry in a different way. Some focused on artistic experiment, others on craft, and still others showed the social and cultural significance of contemporary jewelry. As a result, participants in Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026 could see a world that is usually accessible mainly to designers, gallery owners and collectors.

Gdańsk Jewellery Week is organized by Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A. (Gdańsk International Fair Co.), operator of the strategy “Gdańsk – Światowa Stolica Bursztynu” (Gdańsk – World Amber Capital). One of its aims is to develop contemporary design and to present the most outstanding phenomena related to art jewelry. The exhibitions shown during the festival were a practical realization of this goal and showed how broad and diverse the world of Baltic amber and contemporary jewelry is today.
