Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026: Bursztynowa Parada, More Than a Festival Opening
Fashion, amber, young makers and a joint march through AMBEREXPO. Bursztynowa Parada (Amber Parade) was one of the most spectacular moments of the festival.
A few minutes before the start, people began to gather around the entrance. Some had come specifically for the parade. Others stopped out of curiosity. When the orchestra struck up, it was already clear that this would not be an ordinary festival procession.

Show by Zespół Szkół Kreowania Wizerunku
Bursztynowa Parada opened Gdańsk Jewellery Week and the Targi Rzeczy Wyjątkowych (Fair of Exceptional Things) in a way that was hard to miss. At the head of the procession appeared young participants presenting outfits prepared by students of Zespół Szkół Kreowania Wizerunku (Image Creation School Complex). The collections could be seen in March at the prestigious Amber Vibes 2026 Gala. Alongside fashion there was Baltic amber, the history of the city and contemporary design.

Amber in a Different Light
The parade lasted only a few dozen minutes, but it quickly took on a life of its own on social media and in participants' accounts. What mattered most, however, was something else. Amber stepped out beyond the booths and exhibitions. It became part of a spectacle that drew the attention of people previously unconnected with the jewelry or amber industry.

Gdańsk Jewellery Week is organized by Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A. (Gdańsk International Fair Co.), the operator of the “Gdańsk – Światowa Stolica Bursztynu” (Gdańsk – World Capital of Amber) strategy. One of its goals is to increase the recognition of amber and build its presence in public space. Bursztynowa Parada showed that amber can be talked about not only through exhibitions and conferences, but also through events that engage residents and attract the attention of new audiences.
