Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026: “Winner Collection” - Exhibition by Ivona Haurash
During Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026 we will present the exhibition “Winner Collection” by Ivona Haurash, winner of the Grand Prix of the 29th International Amber Jewelry Design Competition AMBERIF DESIGN AWARD.
The winning design, for which the artist received the Main Prize of PLN 30,000, funded by the Mayor of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, and 1 kg of silver donated by KGHM Polska Miedź, is the starting point for a broader creative statement exploring the tension between traditional craft and the latest technological solutions.
High Prizes, 207 Entries from 28 Countries
AMBERIF Design Award is currently the highest-paying competition in Europe devoted solely to art jewelry, with global reach and international authority. In 2026 the competition gathered 207 entries from 28 countries around the world, assessed by a jury of recognized artists, designers and curators connected with the key centers of contemporary art jewelry in Europe. Each year the competition is decided during Amberif Spring, the world's largest amber fair.
The Ring “Dialogue of Matter” Chosen Unanimously
The international jury unanimously awarded the Main Prize to Ivona Haurash for the ring “Dialogue of Matter.” The jurors emphasized the maturity and many layers of her interpretation of the edition's theme, “Magia Materii” (The Magic of Matter), as well as the skillful combination of reflection on the present with the symbolic potential of the material.

The Light and Matter of Baltic Amber
In her “Winner Collection” Ivona Haurash undertakes an in-depth reflection on the relationship between light and the matter of Baltic amber, examining its expressive potential in combination with modern design tools and innovative production techniques. The artist's works sit at the intersection of disciplines: they combine the precision of the jeweler's craft with openness to experiment, and their conceptual layer fully answers the question posed in the competition theme, “Magia Materii.”
Art History, Design and 3D Design in VR
Ivona Haurash studied art history at the University of Gdańsk and design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. In her thesis she examined the possibilities of using virtual reality (VR) in jewelry design: it was one of the first attempts to apply 3D modeling in a VR environment in this field.
Jewelry and Industrial Designs
After graduating she worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where she shared her knowledge of design in VR. She currently designs jewelry and industrial designs, combining traditional jewelry techniques with new digital technologies. She has design, teaching and curatorial experience.
The artist was born in Grodno, into an artistic family of Polish origin: her mother is a painter and her father a sculptor, which shaped her aesthetic sensitivity from an early age.
