Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026: Amber Parade

On October 3, 2026, Gdańsk Jewellery Week 2026 will be celebrated with a special Amber Parade that brings together fashion, jewelry, history and Gdańsk traditions. A colorful procession will move through the trade fair grounds, inviting exhibitors, guests and visitors to celebrate together!

The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be a living spectacle featuring a brass band, dancers, models presenting amber jewelry, historical patrician women and special guests. The organizers want to emphasize the importance of amber as one of the most important symbols of Gdańsk and Pomerania.

Amber in motion, not behind glass

Unlike classic shows or exhibitions, the Amber Parade lets you see amber jewelry in a natural context. It will be presented in motion by students of the Image Creation School in Gdańsk, who will appear in original styling prepared under the direction of principal Iwona Wirkus-Romanowska. The models will wear jewelry by Daria Dorbur Burkowska.

An amber key with the city coat of arms

A special element of the procession will be a large amber key with the city coat of arms and a big piece of amber set in silver, carried at the head of the parade. It is a symbolic reference to the centuries-long history of Gdańsk as the world capital of amber.

Where tradition meets the present

The parade will also include the Gdańsk Patrician Women (Gdańskie Patrycjuszki), a group of reenactors who popularize the culture and clothing of Gdańsk residents from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The historical costumes will contrast with modern fashion and contemporary jewelry design, showing how many different faces Gdańsk and Baltic amber can have. Music will be provided by a local brass band from Kociewie.

A parade open to everyone

One of the main aims of the event is to bring participants together. Not only invited guests and exhibitors but also fair visitors and lovers of amber and jewelry will be able to follow the official procession. The organizers hope the shared march will become one of the most spectacular moments of this year’s Gdańsk Jewellery Week.

After the march, participants will gather for a commemorative group photo, which will symbolically open this year’s celebration of jewelry, design and amber.
